Perhaps one of the most recognized Highrises to both native San Antonians and out of towers is the Grand Hyatt hotel downtown. A building so grand that it changed our skyline. It is 33 stories tall making it one of our tallest city structures outside the Tower of Americas. 

 

While floors 1-24 are apart of the hotel, what some don’t know is that the upper floors are private condos. Starting from the 25^th floor to the 32^nd and penthouses on the 33^rd. When you are looking to purchase a highrise unit, this is a building that you may want to check out. It offers wonderful amenities and is in true walking distance to most of the downtown area.

 

Starting with amenities of the building. You walk in to a 24 hour concierge service and lobby. Here they can help is many of your needs from holding packages to getting discounted rates for your friends and family if needing to put them in the hotel. They also help is discounts to certain restaurants in the area and schedule maintenance if needed for your unit. On the 5^th floor the building offers an expansive gym that was remodeling in 2019 and offers private classes. This gym you share with the hotel and do pay a fee if wanting the membership, but don’t worry, with the size of the gym you will not be stuck waiting. While you also have access to the 5^th floor pool, the Alteza has a second private pool and hot tub on the rooftop. Which give you a incredible 270 degree view of San Antonio. The rooftop pool also give a community pool lounge. Going back down the Alteza offers reserved underground parking. While you enter through the hotel it is behind it’s own gate and each unit is assigned at least one space depending on the unit. Extra storage closets can also be available at varying times.

 

When you enter one of the units you can be overwhelmed by the views it offers. Floor to ceiling windows give you an unobstructed view of the city and imagine that from 25+ floors up. High end appliances are also standard for most units being Sub-zero refrigerators and Gas cooking. To most, it’s known that not many condo communities offer gas cooking. After being in most units, can say that many will offer electronic blinds, for when you want to be more private or subtract the daylight you can do with a push of a button. With multiple floor plans and sizes, this building offers a wonderful variety to meet most needs.

 

If thinking about a highrise for the views, this one is hard to beat. Weather you want the metropolitan view towards downtown and lights of the north side or have a serene southern feel where give you the ultimate country view towards the ocean. This will be the building for you.
